Why use Koolmat?

First, it’s a composite, what we mean by this is we cure the two pieces together which is a cooking  process that takes place with the fiberglass and the silicone using no glues to make it a better long lasting material. Because the fiberglass side will take a 10000 degree torch test for (5) five minutes before the silicone top side would tack-up this gives the Koolmat staying power. Why? You actually want a stronger material on the floor especially if you plan to drive the vehicle for long trips. A simple torch test will separate the men from the boys (insulation). Once installed in the vehicle you can drive five hours and stay cool or you can sit in traffic and stay cool.  Koolmat is cured into the weave of the fiberglass so that a one piece material is created to keep heat on the bottom of the material and not allow it to pass through so It holds back the heat, the Koolmat top side will get warm but it will never burn you like metal burns a person. So lining the metal or fiberglass inside floor of the vehicle, weather a race car or a restoration, helps prevent heat from penetrating through the holes in your carpet and in the case of a race car if you should blow an oil seal it will stop a fire from penetrating through the steering column to the drivers compartment and causing a nasty burn to the driver!. So, it stops extreme heat, lowers sound, is 70 thousandths thin and saves space, abrasion resistant, mildew resistant, weather resistant (used inside or outside), no asbestos, would follow all contours, very flexible, for patterns it can easily cut with a simple box knife.

For the car owner, now you can improve the quality and the performance  of your vehicle weather for work or for play. We are happy to offer” You” an alternative. Today the all girl company offers Koolmat in bulk rolls (30” wide any length) or pre-cut floor insulation kits for the “do-it-yourself “guy.  We feel you should have your questions answered about the product before you buy the product. With the right information your decisions will make a difference in the safety, sound and how your vehicle feels on a long ride or just sitting in traffic.  We hope our statement helps you on your building search!
