The
above picture shows Koolmat Insulation installed
on a high temperature engine exhaust fan on a
rooftop of an OEM plant. The material is mounted
as a flex joint between the fan and the exhaust
stack. It is exposed to internal temperatures
from 200 degrees F. to over 1000 degrees. F. as
well as outside temperature and exposure
extremes.
Koolmat
Insulation is a fiberglass/silicone composite
that is weather resistant, very flexible, will
follow contours and has a broad temperature
range up to 1000 degree F. Koolmat Insulation
can easily be applied in a number of ways using
rivets, strapping, or permanent fasteners like
hi temperature glues or silicones.
In
this example, Koolmat is used in place of
Refractive, a common high temperature fabric flex
joint material, due to its superior durability
in areas of temperatures, environmental
exposure, vibration and sound dampening. The
example shown has been in place for 2 years with no visible signs of deterioration.
